Self Promotion

This module reflected on the skills learnt and developed throughout my three years at university and experiences to set out a plan for the future, to enable me to clearly communicate my abilities. 

 

I researched the current market place and the important changes that are effecting my chosen field of retail buying. 

 

I prepared a presentation reflecting on experiences and skills, my career path sector, impacts of current issues within this career field and evidenced an action plan for the next eighteen months. 

 

I also created a self promotion film to sell my skills with content from your best work, updating my CV and LinkedIn page.

Independent Final Project

The independent final project was a consolidation of the skills and knowledge accrued over the past 3 years of the course in a visually fluent, research supported, future viable concept.

 

For this project, I negotiated my own outcomes in line with my career aspirations and personal strengths. I chose to focus on menswear and I created a range plan supported by marketing outcomes for high-street streetwear brand Size? UK, in the form of a brand extension which was suitable for both the real world and the metaverse.

 

The project outcome looked beyond what was happening in industry at the time, to develop a concept that inspired the future within the fashion sector. It identified a gap in the market and offered something unique to industry. Grounded in research, both primary and secondary, with industry insight and justification.

This project also required networking and collaboration to ensure my ideas came to life.

Final Major Project (Dissertation)

This module requires me to undertake a comprehensive and independent study on a specialist related topic of your choice, which I chose to title: "The evolving retail landscape and internationalisation: The approach of fashion retailing in-store or online.

Through a written project, I will explored and challenged the established parameters of my subject and demonstrated the relationship between theory and practice. My research evaluated contextual issues from social, cultural and historical perspectives.

 

I applied research skills and developed my ideas to initiate new trends and innovations within my field, placing emphasis on professional and personal ambitions. This module was a platform of considered research, critical understanding and reflection.

This written report was then turned into a visual project for an ascetically pleasing look.
